What MACD measures

MACD measures the gap between fast and slow exponential averages. Pineify reports price-normalized MACD and signal lines so symbols with different prices can be compared.

Calculation

Pineify receives the reported indicator fields from its TradingView Alert pipeline. The calculation follows this method:

MACD line = EMA 12 - EMA 26. Signal line = EMA 9 of MACD. Histogram = MACD line - signal line.

The page leaves missing readings unavailable. It does not fill a gap with an estimate or a browser-side calculation.

How to use this scan

At Pineify, we use this screen as a watchlist check, not as a trade instruction. Use it to compare daily momentum direction and find symbols whose MACD condition fits a trend setup.

Reading the MACD signals

Read the value in context. A single daily result can narrow the list, but it cannot replace a chart review.

A positive histogram means the MACD line is above its signal line.

A negative histogram means the MACD line is below its signal line.

A shrinking histogram can show fading momentum before a crossover occurs.

Where the signal can fail

MACD is lagging and can cross repeatedly in sideways markets. Percentage normalization improves comparison but does not turn a crossover into a forecast.

MACD cannot predict future prices. Confirm the setup and define your risk before acting.

What does the MACD Screener show?+

MACD measures the gap between fast and slow exponential averages. Pineify reports price-normalized MACD and signal lines so symbols with different prices can be compared. How should I read the MACD result?+

A positive histogram means the MACD line is above its signal line. Treat the daily reading as a starting point, then compare it with price structure, volume, and your own risk rules.

Can MACD predict the next price move?+

No. MACD is calculated from reported market data and cannot predict the next move or guarantee a profitable trade. It can help you sort a watchlist for further research.

This public page shows daily data only. Each visible MACD reading comes from the latest daily snapshot returned by Pineify's TradingView Alert pipeline.

Why are the shorter timeframes locked?+

The public page requests the daily timeframe only. Sign in and open Pineify Screener to view 4-hour, 2-hour, 1-hour, 30-minute, 15-minute, 5-minute, and 1-minute readings.

How often is the MACD data refreshed?+

The public API caches each indicator response for up to four hours. The table shows when its current cached response was created, although the underlying daily bar may be older when a market is closed.
